About the IEEE Standards Association

The IEEE Standards Association, a globally recognized standards-setting body within IEEE, develops consensus standards through an open process that engages industry and brings together a broad stakeholder community. IEEE standards set specifications and best practices based on current scientific and technological knowledge. The IEEE-SA has a portfolio of over 1,250 active standards and over 650 standards under development. For more information visit http://standards.ieee.org.

The IEEE-SA is committed to helping to mobilize trust to action through its portfolio of initiatives spanning Digital Identity, Inclusion & Trust in Agency, The IEEE Global Initiative on Ethics of Autonomous and Intelligent Systems, and its Standardization Initiatives. Advocating the same ideals of MyData, the IEEE-SA aims to help put people at the center of their information so they can have access and control their data on how it is shared and utilized.

IEEE-SA seeks to collaborate with key members of the MyData community on our portfolio of global initiatives focused on personal data and identity while learning more deeply about the efforts of MyData and its community. We welcome the insights and collaboration of attendees to help create a roadmap for best integration of the MyData and engineering communities so we can expedite the goals of evolved identity together, especially for children to safeguard their digital and virtual future.

Konstantinos Karachalios, managing director, IEEE-SA will deliver a keynote speech at MyData2018. IEEE-SA will host its invite-only workshop in conjunction with MyData organizers on Saturday, 1 September from 09:00 – 17:00. Our goal is to help Engineers and programmers understand the value of evolved, MyData-centric thinking regarding personal data and identity.
