Restaurant Kuu, or “the Moon” in English, was founded in 1966 with an eye above the clouds. Since the beginning, the atmosphere has been described as reminiscent of a continental bistro. Many of our neighbourhood clientele are second generation regulars and we look forward to welcoming the third generation to Kuu as well.

These ideas are to give you some ideas and inspiration if you wish to explore some sporting activities outside of the Conference schedule. We are not in a position to offer hosts or guides for these, but hope they can be self-organised by Conference attendees.
A nice central run around Helsinki can be found here
Variations on the length of the run can easily be made, e.g. once round Töölönlahti is about 2km with challenging hill on the eastern side. For the longer loop at around 1.5km checkpoint is the statue of the “Flying Finn”, Paavo Nurmi — winner of nine Olympic gold running medals between 1920-28.
Finnair has three running route suggestions here.
The City of Helsinki maintains good swimming facilities. The outdoor heated pool close to the Olympic Stadium is open weekdays Mon-Sat 6.30 – 20.00 and costs €4,50. More info here
Other swim options including beaches here
The stunning downtown Sea Allas Pool would be a fun experience of pool swim and sauna, though the cost is €14. More info here.
