Brian is a Software Engineer at Google, he has been leading Google’s portability engineering effort for the past 4 years. This include products like Takeout that make it easy for users to download a copy of their data stored in Google’s various products in one easy spot. Lately Brian has been working with other industry partners to develop the Data Transfer Project, an open source framework design to facilitate service-to-service transfers and enable the next step in empowering users to control their own data.
The session will showcase four open-source projects that focus on data portability. We will start investigating how new business models can leverage data portability and what tools and technologies can support that.
