Ms Taru Rastas serves as Senior Adviser in the Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications, where her responsibilities include Big Data and MyData policies and digital development. Currently, she runs a key government project on data utilisation in business activities and acts in EU data economy policies. Also, she co-chairs MyData alliance in Finland. She has also coordinated work on digital strategies, information society policy, open data and EU digital agenda. Her background is in management consulting, in academic research and as an entrepreneur on intangibles and non-financial reporting. Previously, as a Ministerial Adviser in the Ministry of Trade and Industry she served the industrial policy service sector. She holds a Master’s degree in economics and has published books and articles on intellectual capital, data and services.
